Product requirements :

Solution :

Constructed from a series of carbon thermoset parts, each produced using matched die compression moulding. Initial steering gear was produced in under 3 weeks from concept to delivery, including making tooling.   • Lightweight beam for mounting wind instruments at the top of yacht mast.
  • Curved along its length to keep instruments out of turbulence caused by sails.
  • Strong and resilient to withstand continuous shock loads, gale force winds and extreme sea conditions.

Bladder moulded, tapered beam with end detail, made from carbon thermoset.

Rope Jammer

Rope Jammer - for offshore racing yachts

Product Requirements :

  • High strength - to take 4 tonne load with UTS of 12 tonnes
  • Low mass - to minimise weight on high performance racing yachts
  • Smooth operation - to ensure ropes free and lock quickly and easily

Solution

Compression moulded carbon fibre-epoxy structure having accurate moulded faces on each internal and external faces of jammer. The underside of the jammer drilled and tapped allowing it to be bolted direct to the deck and spars
