Steering Gear
Product requirements :
- Steering wheel for luxury yacht.
- Lightweight, elegant style
- Strong and stiff to withstand extreme loads
- Superb, low maintenance surface finish
- Very short lead time - needed for major boat show - so yesterday would be nice!!!
Solution :
Constructed from a series of carbon thermoset parts, each produced using matched die compression moulding. Initial steering gear was produced in under 3 (???) weeks from concept to delivery, including making tooling. A superb result, showing when urgency is of essence C2 Composites can deliver in record time, with no compromise on quality.
Instrument Arm
A bladder moulded component with very close control of fibre
orientation to minimise weight and maximise strength.
Anemometer Instrument Arm
Product requirements :
- Lightweight beam for mounting wind instruments at the top of yacht mast.
- Curved along its length to keep instruments out of turbulence caused by sails.
- Strong and resilient to withstand continuous shock loads, gale force winds and extreme sea conditions.
- Low maintenance, high quality surface finish.
Solution :
Bladder moulded, tapered beam with end detail, made from carbon thermoset.
